Atlanta is the result of a research and design project which lasted longer than a year. The aim was to create a low backrest that could turn into a high one in a quick way, but not letting anyone imagine that this was possible. We have designed a very clever mechanism that allows us to hide a headrest in a conventional backrest. In the blink of an eye, we can take the headrest and place it on the top of the backrest. Many people would love to enjoy the comfort that these reclining mechanisms offer.However, they are reluctant to use these types of designs due to the aesthetic.With Atlanta, we have accomplished a very modern, contemporary design, which cannot be identified as a recliner sofa at first sight.

Just like anything else at Fama, it has a hidden innovation, which does not affect the aesthetics and brings new features. We have designed an adjustable backrest system for two depths. As you all know, family members usually have different preferences and needs when it comes to seating. Even for the same person, the sofa is a piece which we use for different purposes, and there are certain activities which required more upright postures than others. Thank to this smart adjustable backrest system, it allows you to have two different depths in one sofa. A new extra-flat hidden mechanism created by Fama along with the new seat shapes, which offers new solutions to the market. Last but not the least, Kalahari has removable covers. We use the same system as Klee and Arianne Plus models.

Most of this type of backrests that can be found in the market have been designed with a horizontal stitching that is placed between the backrest and the lumbar support, so that fabrics do not crease. We managed to avoid this stitching and the backrest is smooth in both positions, generating only slight wrinkles when it is raised to the maximum.

Another great advantage is that all the covers are removable (although it does not look like a removable cover sofa). Thanks to a simple and very discreet velcro system, the covers can be easily put on and taken off for washing.Moreover, this model is also part of the first project from our new philosophy of circular economy.

As in Lotus, the tip-up bolster is multiposional, equipped with a high-tech mechanism manufactured in Japan which allows us to obtain lots of different positions with a smooth and precise movement. The touch buttons of the relax mechanism have been perfectly integrated inside the arm. The new features brought by Loto are the construction of the seat cushion with a stitching in the front, and with the footrest in one piece, and the new touch pad. New SOFT seating created by combining two different foam hardnesses of 35kg.

Just as its predecessor, Calessi has two modules with the arm assembled, and we have added another type of arm in addition to the three types of Calisto. We have also added the option of a charging system via USB port on the arm (available in the arms “S” and “X”). A new fibre headrest has been created to improve the comfort, and finally, the composition of the seat interiors has been changed, for a smooth and wrinkle-free sitting.

Its curves make it special, as nice from the front as from the back. The large seat cushion provides a great comfort, either using it with the scatter cushions or without them.

Despite not being a new model, in the 2016 Collection we created a new element, the Valentina VX module, slightly larger than the original curved module. With it we can make more versatile and usable compositions.

The combinations created with its curved chaise longue “Z” are specially interesting, or with its curved corner “R” in combination with the semi-circular footstool.
